CHINA
China is considered the motherland of tea and has given the tea plant its name: Camellia sinensis (Chinese camellia). From this giant
empire, whose cultivation areas are very far apart, come quite different varieties of black teas with fundamentally different flavours:
from mild and light to sweet and aromatic to strong and earthy. Often a slightly smoky note is discernible.

China Pu Erh Tea
– Specially Fermented Tea –
This is a Chinese speciality. Pu Erh tea is a
so-called post-fermented tea. It is traditionally produced in the Yunnan province.
When brewed, its cup colour is very dark.
Therefore, this type of tea is also called
“heicha”, which means “black or dark
tea”. Pu Erh teas have a very
typical earthy, slightly sweet and fullbodied taste. And they have a very
intense and characteristic smell, like
warm earth after a summer rain. Similar
to green tea, it should be prepared with
not quite boiling water (90° C) and can
be reinfused several times.

China Yunnan FOP
– Black Tea –
A black tea from the province of Yunnan
with an even leaf and some golden tips.
This type of tea is also called “hongcha”
(red tea) in China because of its dark

of teas from this region as the round,
full-bodied, slightly earthy and honey-like
taste.
